1996
The arrival in São Paulo

The 8 first missionaries who arrived in São Paulo came from the Belo Horizonte Community. They were later joined by two other missionaries from Italy. A vast territory was entrusted to the community in the southern outskirts of São Paulo, in the Diocese of Campo Limpo. Bishop Don Emilio Pignoli established and entrusted the Parish of the Holy Trinity to the missionaries.

1996
The first steps

The missionaries dedicate their time to familiarize themselves with the extensive parish territory, which is largely comprised of rural areas. The work primarily starts with the youth, given the high mortality rate among young people caused by violence. Meetings are organized on weekends to build relationships and offer experiences of camaraderie and training.

1997
With the people

The phase of understanding the reality continues through numerous paths of human and Christian formation for the integral development of individuals. The journey of Christian communities continues. In society, the negative consequences of violence are perceived: fear, mistrust, revenge. There are many social problems: severe crises in families, racism, low educational attainment, unemployment, a precarious healthcare system, and above all, a lack of security. The missionaries serve the people to address these situations.

It is urgent to offer children an educational and family experience that can prevent and combat the issues related to childhood. The "Infant-Youth Center" is launched, which provides educational and pedagogical support, recreational activities, food support, and family assistance. The Center was inaugurated in 2001.

The new parish

After many years of pastoral service, the Holy Trinity Parish gives birth to the Jesus of Nazareth Parish. A portion of the mission, consisting of four chapels, forms the new parish. The missionaries experience this moment with gratitude, a sign of the fruitful work of these years, and continue to have pastoral responsibility for eight other communities.

2019
St. Joseph's Chapel

Construction work is underway to build a new chapel dedicated to St. Joseph in a peripheral area of the parish that requires greater pastoral attention.
