The Community

Since 1997 we have lived in the city of Arecibo, in the northwest of the island of Puerto Rico, at which time the first group of nine missionaries arrived and a young couple joined them to begin their journey as missionary spouses. The then bishop of Arecibo, Msgr. Iñaki Mallona, entrusted the Nuestra Señora de Fátima parish to the Community.

We are engaged in missionary animation activities in all the dioceses of the island, in the pastoral care of the parish which has been entrusted to us, and in human promotion and social actions.

Our house allows us to host numerous events including spiritual retreats for persons of all ages, work camps for young people, and social initiatives.

Founded in 1966, the parish is located in the east area of Arecibo and has been entrusted to our Community since our arrival in 1997. The territory where the parish is located has around 8,500 inhabitants and is divided into five pastoral areas.

To cope with the serious economic and social crisis of the island, many initiatives have been promoted and implemented in favor of the population. The missionaries also support and carry out also projects for Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Peru.

We dream of a Church that is attentive to the evangelization of the whole world. For this very reason we labor to promote and carry out missionary animation services in the various parishes and dioceses of the island.
