The “Emmanuel Catholic Church” Mission of Robe was founded over 20 years ago under the Vicariate of Meki. Since 2012, the year of erection of the Prefecture of Robe, the Church has had a central function throughout the Prefecture.
The Catholic community of Robe is made up of no more than 100 faithful, in the majority from Ethiopian Orthodox backgrounds. Mass is celebrated every Sunday, and it is attended by about fifty people.
“The greatest challenge,” says the Apostolic Prefect Fr. Angelo, “is to make our faithful grow and nourish their love for the Word of God, their love for the poorest and their missionary spirit.”

10 km from Robe, in the city of Goba, there is the presence of the Missionary Sisters of Charity of Mother Teresa who contribute to a quality witness of the Gospel announced “to the poorest of the poor”.
In the parish there are also a kindergarten and an elementary school for a total of about 1,000 students. Through the school, we were able to start a computer course extended to the most vulnerable young people in the city’s secondary schools.
