1986
Arrival in Lima

It was January 12 when Msgr. Schmitz, bishop of Lima, and a group of lay people welcomed the first eight Italian missionaries, to whom the new parish La Trinidad was entrusted.

From the beginning we have been committed to carrying out evangelical activities and meeting with local families.

1987-1989
The First Steps

The mission began ever more defined and the territory entrusted to the Community was divided into 4 zones. Since the beginning, the family catechesis allowed the mobilization and involvement of the lay in activities for evangelization.

At this time catechesis for young people was initiated and construction of the St. Rosa chapel began.

1990-1992
The Terrorism of Sendero Luminoso
Sendero Luminoso

The violence of Sendero Luminoso reached Lima and the missionaries were asked to go back to Italy, but they chose to remain with people.

Peru experienced one of the darkest moments in its history. People were starving, inflation rose to 6,000%, a cholera epidemic broke out, tuberculosis continued to affect large numbers of people, the imposed night curfew blocked pastoral activities, and terrorism prevented human promotion activities.  Comedores (popular kitchens) had to work with caution for the threats received.  After the stop of Sendero Luminoso a period of peace began.

1993
New Forces for the Mission

The community was enriched by the presence of young people coming from Peru and Puerto Rico willing to experience a journey of missionary consecration.

1998
Construction of the Parish Church

Construction of the church dedicated to the Holy Trinity began. The works continued until 2004.

2004
The Vocational Training Center for Young People Was Established

The construction of an important vocational training Center started in order to provide a better working future for young people in the area. The work was completed in 2007.

2011
25 Years of Presence in Lima

A great celebration was organized to thank God for 25 years of presence in Lima. The Apostolic Nuncio Msgr. Bruno Musaró presided over the celebration together with Msgr. Carlos Garcia, Bishop of Lurin, and other ecclesial and civil authorities.  The young people of the Community performed the musical "A Single Story" to tell the story of 25 years of presence in Lima.

2012
The Polyclinic La Trinidad

The medical center built over the years by the missionaries developed and became a Polyclinic.
